Talking Books has a large variety of descriptive movies that you can check out. Free movie loans from the Arizona State Library are as easy to get as their recorded books and are also delivered postage free right to your door. The older recordings are on VHS tape and they are building up their collection of studio captioned DVDs. One warning, though: the DVD movies may have menus that require a sighted person's help. Sun Sounds airs the audio description track of a described movie on the first Saturday of every month at 8 PM. As they say: "Monthly Descriptive Movies - Popular movies on the first Saturday of the month.

OPTING OUT

The modern projectors needed for described movies are very expensive and that's a big deal to smaller and to discount theaters. Soon new movies will be available only in digital format and smaller theaters will gradually go away. The Loft Cinema will be upgrading soon and we don't know about others.
